NOVA PhD course "Invasive Pest Threats in the North"

The course is the first in the NOVA (The Nordic Forestry, Veterinary and Agricultural University Network) PhD course series "Climate Change Entomology in the North" which is scheduled for 2017-2019. The course will take place Sept. 25 - 29, 2017 at the Viikki campus, University of Helsinki.
This week, John Eichelberger of the University of Alaska Fairbanks will finish his term as UArctic Vice-President Academic. As we welcome Michael Castellini (also of UAF) as his replacement we talked to John about his time with UArctic and his future plans.
Nordic Master 2017 call for proposals

The Nordic Council of Ministers is pleased to announce the launch of the 2017 call for proposals for Nordic Master programmes. The maximum grant per programme is DKK 1.5 million. Deadline: 29 September 2017.
The Fairbanks Declaration 2017, signed by the eight Arctic states' representatives, recognizes the key role of UArctic in circumpolar education and science. Finland now takes over the Arctic Council chairmanship for 2017-2019.
