UArctic welcomes new Thematic Networks which were approved by the UArctic Assembly in their meeting held on 2-3 June, 2024 in Bodø, Norway.




The Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) announces their upcoming IARPC Public Webinar Series event, titled The Unmet Needs of Environmentally Threatened Alaska Native Villages: Assessment and Recommendations (ANTHC). This webinar will take place 10 June 2024, 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. AKDT.

Concluding the Arctic Congress 2024 in Bodø, Norway, the UArctic Assembly convened June 2-3, 2024. With participation from nearly 70 member institutions, the 2024 Assembly became the largest UArctic members' meeting so far. 

In a significant development for Arctic research and education, the Arctic Five has been officially established as a UArctic Regional Centre, solidifying a collaborative framework to enhance academic and research endeavors in the Fennoscandinavian Arctic.

The European Polar Board (EPB) and the future European Polar Coordination Office (EPCO) will be in Umeå, Sweden, from 2025 to 2029. The relocation from the Netherlands to the Arctic significantly strengthens the foundation of Sweden's Arctic research coordination and regional policy development.
