IASSA Council published the major update to the IASSA Principles and Guidelines for Conducting Ethical Research in the Arctic. This statement of principles has been formulated in accordance with the IASSA Bylaws and approved by the IASSA Council.

UArctic Thematic Network on Teacher Education and UNESCO/UNITWIN Network on Teacher Education had a joint webinar on research perspectives on Greenlandic primary school system on March 30, 2020. The recording is now published.

UArctic Thematic Network on Teacher Education for Social Justice and Diversity in Education held a seminar and a book launch event on 11th of March at the University of Lapland, Rovaniemi, Finland.

An NSF funded postdoc in the Atwood lab at Utah State University is available starting in fall of 2020. The successful applicant will also work closely with the Beard Lab at Utah State University and the Waring Lab at Imperial College-London.

NordForsk has opened a call for proposals in the field of Sustainable Aquaculture. Deadline for proposals is 5 May 2020.

Dr. Kaisa-Riikka Mustonen, a UArctic Postdoctoral fellow with Professor Jeff Welker, has been awarded a 3-year personal research grant from the exclusive Kone Foundation.

The call is open until May 1, 2020 to enrolled MA and PhD students from UArctic Nordic member institutions working in the field of northern or Arctic research.  

Eight new Thematic Networks were approved by the Assembly of UArctic at their fist annual meeting held on February 25-26, 2020, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
