The UArctic Congress 2018 will feature prominent plenary speakers, a science program focusing on the Congress themes, meetings for UArctic members, and social events highlighting our host cities and universities of Oulu and Helsinki.

The 8th High-Level Dialogue on 'UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Arctic' will be held on the topic 'Sustainable Arctic Tourism' at UiT in Tromso on 30 April 2018.

Northern ecosystems in a changing climate is a new field course organized by two Finnish universities in cooperation: the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Oulu. The course will be organized in Oulanka Research Station in Finland in September 2018. Deadline for applications is on 25 June 2018.

There is still room in the 2018 Labrador Institute Field School that will take place in Upper Lake Melville, Labrador from July 2-August 3, 2018. Participants will develop skills valuable in the humanties, sciences, and social sciences through the study of place and heritage.

The APECS-UArctic Science Communication Workshop is organized in connection with the UArctic Congress 2018 in Oulu, Finland on 3 September. Participants will be expected to work on tasks throughout the duration of the congress. Deadline for applications is on Sunday 13 May 2018.

A video published in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland YouTube channel introduces teachers' special knowledge and pedagogical practices in their work in Arctic region. The video has been created in cooperation with UArctic Thematic Network on Teacher Education for Social Justice and Diversity in Education.

The new unit of Murmansk Arctic State University is named International Information and Analysis Center for interdisciplinary research of Arctic Zone of Russian Federation development.

Researchers from the Tomsk State University in Russia together with their colleagues from the international network INTERACT will create a virtual model of the Arctic using the supercomputer "SСIP Cyberia". The access to the model will be free for everyone. 

7th Annual symposium and exhibition of UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Sustainable Arts and Design (ASAD) will be held on 6-8 November 2018.

2018 Arctic Science Conference of the American Association for the Advancement of Science will be held October 9th in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Deadline for abstracts is April 30th.
