UArctic's Thematic Network on Permafrost arranged an international bachelor summer field school in Svalbard, in June 2015. The field school aimed to provide the students with an overview of the many different research topics related to permafrost, ranging from geoscience, engineering and bioscience to social science.

Nahaar Dybdyr, a former north2north and Circumpolar Studies student, has worked as the only surgeon and reanimatologist in three Far North districts of Russia. Now he has also published a photo essay on his home, the Even-Bitantay district of the Sakha Republic.

UArctic’s six new Thematic Networks, approved by the UArctic Council in its 18th meeting held June 14-17, 2015 at the Buryat State University in Ulan Ude, Russia, have now been launched in the UArctic web site.

There are Russia 15 regional scientific centres of the Russian academy of Science. In this article we would like to pay attention to three of them: Kola Centre, Karelian Centre and Komi Centre.

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) invites applications for Research Fellowships and Conference Sponsorship Grants under its Cooperative Research Programme. The deadline for this call is 10 September 2015.

The first expedition on the research vessel "Professor Molchanov" was held in 2012. July 1, 2015, it started its seventh voyage under the name "Discovering the Russian Arctic".

The European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) invites applications for its open call. Funding supports networking activities in the areas of Science and Technology, including Humanities and Social sciences. The call closes on 9th of September 2015.

The Maj and Tor Nessling Foundation invites applications for funding for environmental research. Applications are invited between 10 August and 11 September 2015. This call is repeated once a year.

ArcticNet announces the launch of its 2015 Photo Contest. Deadline for submitting photos: 30 October 2015.

Alaska Pacific University, the University of Alaska Anchorage and the University of Alaska Fairbanks will co-host the Eighth Polar Law Symposium at the UA campuses in Fairbanks (23-24 Sept) and in Anchorage (25-26 Sept) with the theme "The Science, Scholarship, and Practice of Polar Law: Strengthening Arctic Peoples and Place".

Organizers invite you to join The Alaskan Arctic: A Summit on Shipping and Ports, August 23-25, 2015, at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, Alaska. The purpose of the meeting is to build partnerships to develop safe and reliable shipping through the Alaskan Arctic.

The Nordic Council of Ministers is inviting applications for its Nordplus Adult Grants. The deadline for this call is 1 March 2016. The call is repeated once a year.
