The UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Extractive Industries will once again organize a PhD course this summer. The course has the theme "Resource development versus other community sustainability options?" and takes place Aug 29 to  Sept 4, 2016 in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.

The sixth Northern Political Economy Symposium, organized September 8-9, 2016 in Rovaniemi, Finland by the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland, will discuss everyday life in the Arctic and various tactics of tackling the changes in it.
