In Vladivostok, Russia, city buses on several routes, including the bus No15 going to Far Eastern Federal University, have recently been equipped with virtual bookshelves. This invention is one of those about which we can say, “The concept is simple!”


UArctic's Thematic Network on Permafrost arranged an international bachelor summer field school in Svalbard, in June 2015. The field school aimed to provide the students with an overview of the many different research topics related to permafrost, ranging from geoscience, engineering and bioscience to social science.


UArctic’s six new Thematic Networks, approved by the UArctic Council in its 18th meeting held June 14-17, 2015 at the Buryat State University in Ulan Ude, Russia, have now been launched in the UArctic web site.
