Over 30 representatives from University of Tromsø faculties and administration gathered to discuss the various programs and activities of UArctic and how Tromsø, one of the founding members of the organization, can broaden the scope of its involvement in UArctic.

Research students positions, funded by the Ministry of Education, are intended for graduate students with a higher university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) who conduct their doctoral degree at the Universities of Lapland, Oulu and Helsinki.

Sept. 13, 2006Fairbanks, Alaska-The U.S. State Department Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs has awarded the University of Alaska Fairbanks a $150,000 grant to help establish the UAF International Polar Year education and outreach office. The office was created in conjunction with the University of the Arctic.  

Linked to the themes of Finland's chairmanship of the European Union, the Centre of International Mobility CIMO, the University of Helsinki and the Finnish Ministry of Education wish to give a boost to student and faculty mobility between EU and Russia.
