A new call for funding is available for collaborative research projects on Nordic societal security in light of the emerging global and regional trends. The total amount of funding available for this Nordic call is set at NOK 44 million and the deadline for the submissions is 20 November 2019.




The first Winter School, sponsored by the International Project Office, and hosted by the Harbin Institute of Technology, will be held by the International Arctic School, HIT (IAS HIT) on the topic of “To understand: Arctic Environment and Ecosystem” in the beautiful city of Harbin from January 5-12.2020


The Greenlandic Representation in Reykjavík and UArctic Institute: The Northern Research Forum (NRF) at the University of Akureyri will jointly organize an Arctic Circle Assembly pre-event "From National Strategies to Shared Solutions – Best Practices for Sustainable Development in the Arctic".

The International Arctic Social Sciences Association (IASSA) announces the 10th International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences (ICASS X) to be held on the campus of Northern (Arctic) Federal University, in Arkhangelsk, Russia, 15-19 June 2020. 





Beginning with a traditional welcoming and land acknowledgement from Shirely Williams and greeting from Dr. Leo Groarke, the President of this year's host Trent University, the UArctic Rectors' Forum 2019 has opened in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
