Leaders of UArctic's higher education institutions are invited to the 11th UArctic Rectors’ Forum, hosted by the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, from August 23rd to 25th, 2017. Registration for the meeting is now open.

The U.S. Arctic Research Commission (USARC) released its biennial "Report on the Goals and Objectives for Arctic Research” for 2017-2018 on Thursday, 15 December during the 2016 American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting in San Francisco, California.

Organizers announce an extended abstract submission deadline for the Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2017 Conference. The conference will convene 31 March - 7 April 2017 in Prague, Czech Republic. Extended abstract submission deadline: Tuesday, 10 January 2017.

University of Tromsø – The Arctic University of Norway will held the ALTA 2017: Climatic and social changes lead to marginalization. Circum-Polar Flux Workshop will be held in Hyytiälä, Finland on 6-9 February 2017. The host of the conference is the PEEX HQ, University of Helsinki, Finland.

Thematic Network on Sustainable Arctic Resources and Social Responsibility hosted by Copenhagen Business School decided to have the first meeting on 7-9 December 2016 in the Komi Republic, Russia, hosted by Syktyvkar University. 

St. Petersburg State University undergraduates and graduates will take part in the new international research project on the geological structure of the Arctic. This international cooperation that involves Russia, Norway, Canada and USA will bring new transborder data.

International Autumn School "Study of human working capacities in the Arctic", which took place September 5-12, 2016 has been successfully completed. The school was the first collaborative project of two Thematic Networks "Health and well-being in the Arctic" and "Working in the Arctic."

Lapland University of Applied Sciences in Tornio is organizing a “Summer School on Arctic Cooperation and Cross-Border Expertise”. The Summer school will be held form 29 May to 31 August 2017 (30 ECTS study credits).  Application deadline: March 31, 2017.

The deadline for the first workshop on “The Future of Winter Tourism” (FWT2017), which will be held in Rovaniemi (Finland) on April 3-5, 2017 is quickly approaching. The workshop is organized by the University of Lapland and Multidimensional Tourism Institute (MTI).

Eleven student alumni of the first two Korea Arctic Academy cohorts presented in the policy day to open the Korean Arctic Partnership Week in Busan, invited by our member and partner, Korea Maritime Institute.

The two-day conference (January 19-20, 2017 - University of Helsinki, Finland) examines the concept of “indigenous people” as an inter-national and global phenomenon, and the unique processes through which this concept is applied to, lived and translated for each local situation.

The Centro de Administração e Políticas Públicas (CAPP) of the ISCSP is organizing the IV Lisbon International Arctic Workshop and Conference on "Artic Global Sustainable Development, Challanges and Resilience - From Climate Change to Security, People and Places". The event will take place on December 5th.

From 25 to 26 November the International Conference "Gargia-Oktemtsy - 2016 “Agricultural development in the northern territories of Russia" took place for the third time on the base of the North-Eastern Federal University in Yakutsk and Oktemtsy village.  

Students at UArctic institutions with a north2north contact, can apply for a north2north student exchange at another member institution. The application deadline for the next calendar year is Feb 15, 2017.
