During the 15-day course (1-15 June 2016) by University of Alaska Fairbanks, students will learn about Arctic vegetation, soils, landforms, permafrost, geology, wildlife and land-use along the incredible research transect from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay, traversing boreal forest, alpine, and Arctic biomes. The University of the Arctic Thematic Network Arctic Sustainable Arts and Design (ASAD) met in early November 2015 in Anchorage, Alaska. The network's annual symposium consists of a congress, exhibition and workshops. The themes of the meeting this year were culture, community and communication.
