Starting April 11, 2016 in Kautokeino, Norway, this is a two week course in Biological Diversity in a Circumpolar Indigenous Perspective organized by the Sámi University College and the UArctic EALÁT Institute in cooperation with the International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry. Application deadline: March 23.

Registration is now open for the 2016 Arctic Circle Greenland Forum. The Forum is organized in cooperation with the Government of Greenland -- Naalakkersuisut -- and will be dedicated to economic development for the peoples of the Arctic.

UArctic Marathon

The home base of the UArctic International Secretariat, the University of Lapland, is pleased to announce open championships for staff and students in running and Nordic walking, to be held as part of the Rovaniemi Marathon on 2 July.

The Nordic-Russian Cooperation Programme in Education and Research supports joint cooperation projects between higher education institutions in Russia and the Nordic Countries. The deadline for applications is 3 May 2016.


After a long series of tweets, retweets, likes and posts, preliminary data is trickling in from across the Arctic on individual and community needs and perceptions of telecom and broadband access throughout the Arctic. The initial results of the survey are now available. (report by Karl Kowalski)
