CIRCLA (Aalborg University), UArctic and ARC (Aarhus University) jointly organize a post-graduate summer school within the social and human sciences on change and continuation in the Arctic. The summer school is held in Aalborg University, Denmark on 12-15 August 2015. Application deadline: 9 April 2015.

Arctic Design Week 2015, the world’s northernmost design week, takes place on 16-22 February 2015 in Rovaniemi, Finland. The theme of the 7th design week is Transparency, which explores the role of design in the sustainable development of the Arctic.

The Eurasia Foundation invites accredited higher education institutions from Russia and the United States to submit joint proposals for the development of new institutional partnerships funded by the US-Russia University Partnership Program (UPP). Application deadlines: March 2, 2015 and May 18, 2015.

A new report from Macdonald-Laurier Institute, written Greg Poelzer (University of Saskatchewan/ICNGD; lead of Thematic Network on Northern Governance), suggests that Canada should follow Norway’s example by placing natural resource revenues into investments that can be used over the long-term. The 2nd International Conferene "In the Spirit of the Rovaniemi Process – Local and Global Arctic" takes place 24-26 November 2015 in  Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland. The conference now kindly invites abstracts for oral presentations in the thematic sessions (see the list below).

At the beginning of February, a delegation of 39 staff members from the College of Social Education in Ilulissat, Greenland, took the trip to Norway to visit UiT The Arctic University of Norway, campus Alta.

The International Summer School "Social Work from a Global Perspective" in Rovaniemi, Finland (20 May-4 June 2015) enables students and professionals in social work and related human service fields to explore the meanings, practices and implications of social work from a global perspective. Apply by 12 April 2015.

The Master’s programmes at the University of Akureyri are the first of their kind in the world and provide a unique focus on Polar Law. All the Polar Law subjects are taught in English, and new students to the programmes are accepted every other year. The application process to begin studies in 2015 is now open!

The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC), together with the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), recently announced the start of the second edition of the IASC Fellowship Program. University of Alaska Fairbanks organizes a three-week field course on Arctic environmental change on 10-30 June 2015 in the Fairbanks area, focusing on the geology, permafrost, landforms, soils, vegetation and wildlife of boreal, alpine and Arctic environments. Registration begins on 23 February 2015.
