In 2015, for the third time in 14 years, a Russian UArctic member will be hosting the annual meeting of the Council of UArctic. In addition to the Council meeting, a joint international conference entitled "Arctic dialogue in the globalized world" is being organized.

Organizers welcome the submission of proposals for Breakout Sessions at the Third Arctic Circle Assembly to be held October 16–18, 2015 in Reykjavík, Iceland. Deadline for proposal submissions: June 1, 2015.

The 15th International Scientific Conference for Students and Post-graduates “Problems of the Arctic Region” is devoted to scientific, environmental, technical, economic, and social aspects of the development of the Arctic. Deadline for registrations and paper submissions: 25 April 2015.

A new book by David P. Stone, one of the early proponents of UArctic, is now available from Cambridge University Press, "The Changing Arctic  Environment - The Arctic Messenger."

UArctic Student Ambassadors had a unique opportunity to engage in a face-to-face fireside discussion with Prince Albert II of Monaco - who has a strong and longstanding interest in Arctic issues - during Arctic Frontiers and hosted by UiT - The Arctic University of Norway in Tromso, on January 19, 2015.

Starting in autumn 2015, University of Nordland (UiN) offers a new master's degree program in Social Sciences with three specializations: International Northern Development, West Nordic Studies, and Social Work with a Comparative Perspective. Apply by Feb 1 (non-EU citizens), April 1 (EU citizens) or May 15 (Norwegian citizens).

The UArctic Thematic Network on Permafrost offers an international bachelor permafrost summer field school in Svalbard from 12 June to 3 July 2015. The organizers welcome senior bachelor students who are interested in obtaining an overall knowledge about permafrost. Application deadline: February 15, 2015.

On February 5-6, 2015 Ukhta State Technical University will hold the sixth international scientific seminar "Rassokhin reading" in memory of Gennady Rassokhin who was a Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Rector of the Ukhta Industrial Institute from 1980 to 1997.
